After all, Baidu has over 2/3 of the search market in China, and definitely has a larger network in the country as compared to Google. I think the main motivation might be the competition between both Alibaba and Baidu. With Baidu getting into C2C and B2B as well, which have been the strong points of Alibaba, I guess they appear more as competitors than potential partners.</description>
